What is Zhineng Qigong?
Traditional Qigong dates back more than 5000 years and is the foundation of Chinese medicine, martial arts, and philosophy. Through millennia in China, thousands of traditional forms of qigong have been developed, most often associated with Taoism, Confucianism and Buddhism, but there are also many folk forms that developed regionally. Qigong is sometimes referred to as Chinese Yoga.
Zhineng Qigong is a modern, non-religious branch of qigong combining meditation and visualization with movement, sound, and breathing methods for the purpose of healing, optimizing health, developing human potential, and awakening consciousness. Dr. Pang He Ming, a qigong grandmaster and physician trained in Western and Chinese Medicine, combined his deep understanding of traditional and folk qigong and Western and Chinese medicine with scientific research in developing Zhineng Qigong. He created the most effective form of qigong practiced today for health and the development of consciousness. One of the many contributions made by Dr. Pang is the understanding of the qi field in which all methods are practiced, making them more effective for doing healing with many people together.
Mingjue Practice is a high-level practice of Zhineng Qigong in which we cultivate the state of the clear, self-reflective observer. This allows us to go beyond the emotional and physical blockages and other limitations of our personal and societal conditioning. In Mingjue practice, we create a consciousness field and an entirety state in which consciousness, qi, the body and the universe are merged together as one. This brings all parts of us along on the journey of healing and awakening of pure consciousness—also called the true self or essence—which is the inner master that guides our lives. Gaining inner mastery allows us to be at choice in new ways and to awaken and cultivate essential states, such as freedom, universal love, compassion, joy, and peace, making life more beautiful and fulfilling.
